- Weeks premature = 40 weeks (280 days) - gestational age at birth = 56 day(s) = 8 week(s).
- Due date = 2024-03-01 + 56 day(s) = 2024-04-26; the adjusted age is the age measured from that date.
- Born 2024-03-01 (a Friday); measuring on 2025-01-15.
- Whole years first: 2024-03-01 + 0 years lands on or before 2025-01-15.
- Then whole months and days: + 10 month(s) + 14 day(s) reaches 2025-01-15.
- Elapsed days = 320, i.e. 45 weeks and 5 day(s).
- Next birthday 2025-03-01 (Saturday), 45 day(s) away; turning 1.

What the asq calculator calculates
Age in completed years, months and days on any date, with the total days lived, the weekday of birth, the next birthday and the gap between two birth dates; it also runs backwards to recover a date of birth from an age, breaks an age down into every time unit, and corrects an infant age for prematurity. Age counts completed calendar months and days, so a 29 February birth attains the next year of age on 1 March in common years.
